More on Moles…

• The mole we see locally is the Eastern Mole.
• Moles like living in open fields and wooded locales.
• A mole is between 6 and 8 inches long on average. It will have gray fur and a short tail.
• They burrow with ease, with their specialized body shape, pointed head, and powerful digging ability.
• They like to eat insects, vegetables, grubs, and seeds.
• Their create extensive tunnels as deep as 12 inches.
• They have excellent senses of smell and touch, useful underground where there is no light.
• Year round diggers, they will manage to burrow 20 feet per day.

Mountain or Molehill?

• If you see molehills, tunnels, or plants with roots eaten, you have moles.

Is a Mole Dangerous?

• They are dangerous to your lawn care efforts and can destroy your in-ground sprinkler systems.

What Should You Do?

• Try to trap those critters. It is tough to do. They are clever and will dig new tunnels to avoid traps.
